FRAMINGHAM – The City Council’s subcommittee on the Environment and Sustainability will meet on Tuesday night at City Hall to discuss whether Framingham should join the 175 other communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who have adopted the Community Preservation Act, said chair Judy Grove.
The meeting starts at 7 in the Blumer Community room at the Memorial Building. The public is invited to attend.
The Community Preservation Act, said Grove, is a “a tool that helps communities preserve open space and historic sties, create affordable housing and develop outdoor recreational facilities.”
The Town of Framingham, when it had Town Meeting, considered adopting the Act in 2001 and rejected the idea.
