After 6 Decades, Downtown Framingham Store Closes

FRAMINGHAM – After six decades in downtown, the Hansen Electrical Supply store has closed.

Founded in 1959 by Wayne L. Hansen, the business has been at 64 Waverley Street since 1964.

The retail store sold indoor and outdoor light fixtures, as well as residential and commercial fixtures.

The store closed to customers last month.

Source was told today, the three buildings were sold to one person, and all the stock in the store was sold to someone else.

The 0.27 acre property and building is valued at $738,100, according to the City Assessor’s database.

“At our store you have access to the best in lighting supplies, fixtures, parts and much more from top brands,” stated the website. “Save on the electrical contracting supplies you need with competitive pricing from Hansen Electrical Supply, Inc. We carry the same products as those big box stores, but our prices are lower.”

There is nothing on the website nor on the company’s Facebook page to announce the sale and closure of the Route 135 store, as of yesterday, March 5.

“The region of greater MetroWest and Worcester, MA has seen periods of both tremendous growth and also of slowdown and consolidation in the housing market. Our firm has carried on through these times of change, and we look forward to playing a role in the area’s recovery and future prosperity,” states the website. “Hansen Electrical Supply, Inc. in Framingham, MA continues to serve the greater MetroWest and Worcester area. Special orders and deliveries to the greater Milford/Worcester area are available upon request. We thank you for your patronage throughout the years. With our decades of experience, we are here to serve your lighting and electrical needs.”
