WEYMOUTH – The Framingham High dance team won its first winter state title on Tuesday night.
This is the fourth state dance title in the last three years. The dance team has won three consecutive fall state titles.
“We are beyond excited to have reached this milestone!,” said head coach Angela Rodriguez. “It means a lot to us and we have tremendous respect for the other teams in both our division and in the all-styles division.”
The Flyers won the state title in the hip-hop category.
The team is lead by junior tri-captains Ivy-Jolie Camacho, Jonalys Peña, and Alex Cahn.
Other members of the squad are Izzy Testiler, Gabby Branco, Gabriella Bortolotti, Jessie Faulk, João Coelho, Scatlyn Dardompre, Ritika Mittal, Bopha Peng, Isabela Solha-Cruz, Liz McElwain, Louisa Idzal, Madelyn Rose, Maggy McEnaney, Courtney Glazer, and Vivian Gao.
Framingham will compete at the New England championship on Saturday, March 9 at Braintree High School.
“This group of athletes is absolutely incredible. They continue to bring such dedication, resilience, and energy, and I could not be more proud to be their coach,” said Rodriguez.
Coach Rodriguez received an award during the state competition.
