Burgess Breaks Framingham High Record; Finishes 7th at New England Championship

BOSTON – Senior Ben Burgess broke his own Framingham High record at the New England Indoor Track Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston today, March 2.

Burgess ran the 2 mile event in 9:30.88 minutes, which was a personal best for him and a new Framingham High record, said coach Chris Collins.

His time placed him seventh overall in the 2 mile event at the New England Championships.

“Tremendous job focusing and finishing strong,” said Collins, ”
“Even after being cut off several times during the race.”

This was Burgess’ final high school race at the Reggie Lewis Center, said Collins.

Burgess ran indoor track for Framingham High all four years, and will complete his high school running season with the outdoor track season. he also was a 4-year Flyers cross-country runner.
