FRAMINGHAM – In August 2018, Phyllis May was nominated by Mayor Yvonne Spicer for a 3-year appointment to the Framingham Housing Authority.
The City Council unanimously approved May’s re-appointment to the Framingham Housing Authority.
“It was later discovered by Framingham Housing Authority counsel, and confirmed by our City Solicitor, that the terms of Housing Authority members should be five years rather than three, as provided by Massachusetts General Law Chapter 121B Section 5,” wrote Mayor Spicer to the Framingham City Council in a February 27 memo.
“I am requesting the City Council amend Ms. May’s appointment to reflect a five-year term, effective through June 30, 2023,” wrote the Mayor.
The City Council is expected to vote to extend the term of May at one of its March meetings.
