Flyers Advance To Finals of Cahoon Cup With 3-1 Win

BURLINGTON – The Framingham High boys ice hockey team advanced to the finals of the Cahoon Cup by defeating host Burlington High 3-1 Tuesday night.

The two teams – #17-ranked Burlington and #7 in the state Framingham were tied after the first period.

Senior captain Nate Nichols got the Flyers on the scoreboard 21 seconds into the second period.

Burlington them tied up the game again, but with just about two minutes left in the third period, Will Trischetta scored the game winner.

Senior captain and Flyers leading scorer Tersoni made it 3-1 with 23 seconds left in the game.

Assists last night went to senior Brian Tosi, senior captain PJ Conzo and sophomore Hunter Balducci.

The Bay State Conference champion Flyers are now 16-3-2 overall with the finals of the Cahoon Cup at the Ice palace Thursday night as their last regular season game.

Saturday is the Super 8 selection, and the Flyers still have a chance to make the top 6 or be one of the wildcard teams in the top 10.
