Yan Finishes Second at State Meet

FRAMINGHAM _ Framingham High junior Chance Yan finished second in the 100-yard backstroke at the Division 1 State Championship meet for boys swimming, over the weekend. His time was 54:14 seconds.

Yan also finished 15th overall in the 100-yard butterfly event. His time was 55.09 seconds.

Swimmers in the top 16 spots earn points for their team.

As a team, Framingham High finished 21st out of 56 teams.

St. John’s Prep repeated as champions. Chelmsford High captured second place and the Red Hawks of Natick took third place.

Freshman JJ Dupcak finished in 8th place in the 100-yard freestyle event. His time was 49.45 seconds.

Dupcak also placed 13th in the 200-yard freestyle event for the Flyers. His time was 1:48.42 minutes.

The 400-medley relay finished 16th and earned a point for the team. On the relay was Yan, senior Justin Lu, junior Shawn LaFountain and junior Tristan Wilcox. The time was 1:44.35 minutes.

The 400-yard medley relay finished 19th with Yan, junior Leon Kisler, Wilcox and Dupcak.

The 200 medley relay team finished 22nd overall with Dupcak, Kisler, LaFountain and Wilcox.
