PLYMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Four members of the UMass Dartmouth indoor track & field teams captured individual event titles on Saturday afternoon at the 2019 Little East Conference Championships at Plymouth State’s Bank of New Hampshire Fieldhouse.
And one of the four was a former Framingham Flyer.
Freshman Andrew Swallow claimed the shot put championship with a mark of 14.20 meters/46 feet, 7 ¼ inches.
Swallow also tossed the 10th longest distance in the weight throw in school history with a mark of 13.33 meters/43 feet, 9 inches on the day.
UMass Dartmouth, which recorded a score of 84 points to place third behind team champion Southern Maine (231) and runner-up Plymouth State (99).
Rhode Island College claimed the Little East team title on the women’s side with a score of 174 points, as the Anchorwomen topped runner-up Keene State (122.5) and third place Southern Maine (111). The Corsairs finished sixth overall with a team score of 40 points.
Both UMass Dartmouth squads will be in action next weekend at the New England Division III Championships.
