State Reps. Lewis and Peisch Volunteer at MassBay Mobile Market

WELLESLEY – Framingham/Ashland State Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis and Wellesley State Rep. Alice Peisch volunteered at the Massbay Community College’s Monthly mobile market.

Once a month, MassBay’s Wellesley Hills campus holds a mobile market to distribute free fresh fruits and vegetables to students, faculty, and staff.

Students on the Framingham and Ashland campuses register in advance and food is delivered to those campuses for pick-up.

The food is provided by Greater Boston Food Bank.

MassBay has been working in collaboration with the Greater Boston Food Bank since 2016.

MassBay also has other initiatives on campus to fight hunger on campus including, distribution of free frozen meals by Cambridge-based Food For Free and Framingham-based Daniel’s Table, study group sessions with meals provided called Food for Thought, snack bins located in high-traffic offices on campus, and event programming involving food options.

Rep. Lewis handing out sweet potatoes to students, and chatted with MassBay President David Podell during his visit to campus.
