NATICK – The Framingham High girls basketball team lost to Bay State Conference rival Natick High Friday night on the road.
The Red Hawks won 69-41.
“We came out strong leading the first quarter 9-11,” said head coach Kristen Audet-Fucarile.
Vienna Monestime got 7 quick baskets for us.
“Many teams can fault is for our lack of ability to put the ball in the basket consistently through a game, yet they can’t say that about our defense,” said the head coach. “We had players diving for loose balls, ripping down rebounds and interrupting passes by getting in the lanes.”
Nicole Moran had 5 points and 8 rebounds for the Flyers.
She is a “tremendous defender, with an eye for where the ball is going,” said the head coach.
Monestime led the Flyers with 17 points and 7 rebounds.
She ran the point for the Flyers and drove their offense tonight, said the head coach.
Ryleigh LaChance had 8 rebounds and 8 points in the loss.
“Bella Galvani has some consistent minutes for us and put in 6 points,” said Audet-Fucarile.
Tuesdya night is senior night against the Warriors of Brookline High at home. Tip-off at 6:30 p.m.
Natick is now 10-2 in the Conference.
Framingham is now 7-12 overall and 3-9 in the Conference.
“Coming off a 1-19 year, these ladies had a mission to improve,” said the head coach to SOURCE. “The best is yet to come with these Flyers. As the grow and mature together, they will become more dominate on the offensive end.”
