BOSTON – Framingham senior beat her own high school record by finishing third in the 55-meter dash at the Bay State Conference meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston today, February 6.
Poku finished in 7.36 seconds. The winner was Anna Jordahl-Henry of Wellesley in 7.27 seconds. Second place went to Abigail Gerdes of Natick in 7.32 seconds.
Poku has qualified for the Division 1 track meet.
In the preliminary heats, Poku ran a 7.44 to qualify for the 8-girl final. Framingham freshman Priscilla Mota second a personal record finishing 13th out of 24 runners in the preliminaries at 7.91 seconds.
A trio of Framingham runners competed in the 300 meter race Senior Patty Agbeh set a personal record finishing 17th at 45.45 seconds.
Freshman Kylie Chagnon finished 19th in 46.12 seconds and freshman Brooke Haarala finished 20th in a personal best time of 46.18 seconds.
Senior Clara Small ran her best time this season in the 600 meter race. She finished 15th overall in 1:50.48 minutes.
Brookline won the 4 by 200 meter relay. Framingham finished in 7th place with Agbeh, Chagnon, Haarala, and Poku in 1:51.33 minutes.
Natick finished 1-2 in the shot put, with Kassidy Gallagher winning the event with a throw of 34-feet and 8.75 inches.
Framingham’s best thrower at the Conference meet was senior Ayushi Shirke in 18th place with a throw of 21-feet and 10.25 inches. Framingham junior Funmi Oyomire was 19th overall with a throw of 21-feet and 10 inches.
