Flyers Defeat St. Joseph’s 5-1

FRAMINGHAM – Tess Lawson scored two goals in the first period, including the game winner, in the Framingham High girls ice hockey team’s victory over St. Joseph Prep at Loring Arena Saturday evening.

The Flyers won 5-1.

Framingham High is now 3-12, under first-year head coach Casey Diana.

Senior Caroline Stacey scored in the second period to give Framingham a 3-0 lead.

St. Joseph’s got on the board in the middle period, and then freshman Rachael Neiberger scored on a breakaway to make it 4-1 Flyers. It was her first varsity goal, and coach Diana named her player of the game.

Stacey added her second goal of the game in the third period to give the Flyers the 5-1 final.

George Parker had three assists in the victory. Freshman Ava Sullivan had two assists. Kiley Dustin and Rachel Marinofsky each had an assist for Framingham.

The Framingham Youth Hockey U8 players attended the game and cheered on the Flyers, along with Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay.

The Flyers will host the Rockets of Needham High on Wednesday at Loring Arena.
