HOLLISTON – After trailing by four points at halftime, the Framingham High boys basketball team clawed out a victory over Holliston High Sunday afternoon.
Framingham won 59-38.
It was a “slow start for us and had to deal with some foul trouble in the first half,” said head coach Jason Gosselin. “Guys weathered it emotionally but we found ourselves tailing 24-20 at half time.”
The Flyers had a “really strong second half defensively,” said the coach.
“Ball pressure and containment was good and our rotations were fast and well communicated,” Gosselin said.
Framingham “held Holliston to 14 second half points and got some easy baskets off of turnovers,” said Gosselin.
“Never easy to win on the road without a commitment to the defensive end like we had in the second half today,” said the head coach.
Senior Matt Fonseca scored 21 points in the victory.
Senior Victor Carrillo scored 17 points and senior Erick Oliveira had 11 points in the win
Framingham is now 8-7 overall and 2-7 in the Bay State Conference.
Next up for the Flyers is a game against the Rockets of Needham on Tuesday.
