FRAMINGHAM – Emmy Award winning actor Ed Asner will be performing in Framingham in June.
Asner, 89, will star in the play A Man and His Prostate by Ed Weinberger at Amazing Things Arts Center on June 22 at 8 p.m.
A comedic play, A Man and His Prostate ends in a serious moment showcasing statistics about prostate cancer, and identifying famous people who have died from the disease.
Primarily known for his role as Lou Grant during the 1970s and early 1980s, on both The Mary Tyler Moore Show and its spin-off series Lou Grant, Asner portrayed the same character in both a comedy and a drama.
Asner has won more Emmy Awards for performing than any other male actor (seven, including five for the role of Lou Grant).
In 1996, he was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame
