FRAMINGHAM – The Flyers took on the Newton North on Tuesday, but ultimately fell to the Tigers by a final score of 57-36.
Senior Victor Carrillo led the Flyers in scoring with 18 points.
The Flyers concluded a competitive first half by cutting the Newton lead to 6.
However, the Tigers opened the second half with a 13-0 run, and would hold the lead for the rest of the game.
While the score did not end up how the Flyers would have hoped, they showed effort all the way to the final buzzer.
While he was not happy with the outcome, Framingham head coach Jason Gosselin did have some positive words about his teams performance.
“We were only down 6 points at the half against a great team. I thought we played well in the first half but we couldn’t carry that into the third quarter,” he said.
“I thought our defense was great in that first half, but we couldn’t get stops in the 3rd quarter” he added.
He also gave high praise to the opposition. “Newton is a very tough team, I thought we played well for half the game, but they are very tough to stop.”
The loss drops the Flyers to a 6-6 record.
They hope to bounce back on Friday night against the Rebels of Walpole High at home. Tip-off at 6:30.
