FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls fought all game and scratched out a 42-39 win over the Weymouth Wldcats Tuesday night.
Framingham is now 5-7 overall under head coach Kristen Audet-Fucarile.
The game was won on a pass from junior Vienna Monestime to freshman Marykate Robinson, who hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left in the game.
“Tonight was a pretty equally matched game, with both teams struggling on offense, but battling on defense,” said Audet-Fucarile.
The Flyers went into the locker room at halftime with a small 16-14 lead.
Monestime had a huge first half scoring 11 of those 16 points.
“Third quarter the wheels started to fall off and Weymouth went on a 17-6 run to lead 31-22 going into the fourth,” said the coach.
“Our fourth quarter was a fight to the finish,” said Audet-Fucarile. “We outscored Weymouth 20-8, with huge 3-pointers from Sophomore Hannah Krier and freshman Marykate Robinson.”
Robinson had a career high 10 points in the victory.
“Finishing with a huge 3 to seal the deal,” said the coach.
Team plays Brookline High on Friday night.
