NATICK – Saturday night, Chase Arena was packed for the Framingham High vs Natick High boys hockey game in Natick.
It was rivalry weekend.
On Friday night, Natick boys host Framingham boys basketball and won. Also on Friday night, the Framingham High girls basketball team hosted Natick, and the Red Hawks won.
Saturday afternoon, the girls ice hockey team hosted the Red Hawks, and the Natick won at Loring Arena.
But Saturday night was the final match between the two Bay State Conference rivals.
Natick Town Administrator Melissa Malone was at Chase and wearing a hockey jersey – a Framingham Flyers jersey.
And Framingham won. Maybe it was the hockey jersey, just kidding.
Framingham defeated Natick 4-0, to stay undefeated in the Bay State Conference, but the jersey made for a great photo.
Malone had lost a bet with Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer about the winner of the Thanksgiving football game between the two communities, played at historic Fenway Park.
If Framingham won, Malone was to wear Flyers gear to the hockey game.
Bet now paid in full.
And Natick finishes rival weekend 3-1.
