Framingham Wrestling Defeats Algonquin; Drops Matches West Springfield and Franklin

NORTHBOROUGH – The 8th-ranked in the state Framingham High wrestling team travelled to Northborough Saturday for a quad match hosted by Algonquin Regional High School.

The Flyers defeated the host 51-24, after losing to both the 5th-ranked West Springfield and 7th in the state Franklin High teams earlier on Saturday.

“Flyers pushes Franklin to the edge splitting the dual with 7 victories each,” said the head coach. Erik Delehanty.

The Franklin Panthers won 36-29.

“Yes, we lost a close one to Franklin which came down to the last match,” said Delehanty.

Franklin was 3-0 on the day and is now 13-1-1.


Senior captain Matt Noah suffered his first loss of the season against #2-ranked Andrew Goddard of Algonquin.

Noah went 2-1 on Saturday in matches.

Pat Quigley, at 152 pounds, and junior Reece LaChance went 3-0 on the day, said Delehanty.

The Flyers lost to West Springfield 51-17.

Framingham High wrestling is now 8-5 overall this season.

Next up for the Flyers is a match against the Wildcats of Weymouth High on Wednesday.
