FRAMINGHAM -The Framingham Flyers squared off against their rival, Natick Redhawks on Friday night.
It was a back and forth game for most of the first half with Natick pulling away late in the 2nd quarter.
The score at halftime was 24-11 in favor of the Redhawks.
The Flyers came out of the locker room with a strong start, opening with a 5-0 run, but could not keep the momentum going.
Natick would go on to win by a final score of 53-22.
Junior Vienna Monestime led the Flyers in scoring with 10 points.
The Flyers were also very good on defense, racking up numerous steals, and making it difficult for Natick to find open lanes to the rim.
Although the score did not end up like she had hoped, head coach Kristen Audet-Fucarile had high praise for her team.
“I thought that we really followed through with out gameplan. Natick is a very good team and I really think our defense was solid.” she said. “We have a great group of kids, and they work hard every game and every practice. They are a very exciting group to coach” she added. “We are looking to make some improvements for our next game.”
The loss drops Framingham’s record to 4-7 on the year.
The Flyers look to get back on track against Weymouth’s Wildcats on Tuesday.
