FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High girls basketball team defeated Dracut High Wednesday night, for their fourth victory of the season.
It was the first time this season the Flyers have put together back-to-back wins.
Framingham defeated the Middies 46-20.
The Flyers are now 4-6 on the season, under head coach Kristen Audet-Fucarile.
Leading scorers Wednesday night were Vienna Monestime with 16 points and Ryleigh LaChance with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
“We had lock down defense from our freshman Marykate Robinson, who led us in steals, with eight,” said the coach. Robinson also had 4 rebounds in the win.
“We started out rocky ending the half with a small lead, 20-13,” said Audet-Fucarile. “Missing many lay-ups and rushing our game to a different level.”
“We started to take care of business in the second (half), when we took a solid lead going into the fourth (quarter) 38-15,” said Audet-Fucarile.
Next up is Bay State Conference rival Natick High Friday night at home at 6:30 p.m.
“We have to be mentally tough going into Natick,” said Coach Audet-Fucarile. “They are a very strong, disciple team, that we need to find ways to create opportunities for ourselves and keep the fight that we have had in the past few games.”
