FRAMINGHAM – Three individuals are interested in replacing the late State Rep. Chris Walsh as the male representative with the Massachusetts Democratic Party in the Second Middlesex and Norfolk seat, according to the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
“We received three letters of intent for this seat and will be holding a conference on February 9th at 1:30 p.m. (doors at 1) at the Ashland Recreational Community Center,” said Massachusetts Democratic Party Executive Director Veronica Martinez.
Letters of intent were due to the Massachusetts Democratic Party headquarters by 5 p.m. on January 5.
The district is comprised of Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton and Natick (Precincts 1-5 and 8), Franklin (Precincts 5, 6, 8), and Medway.
“I am excited to announce that I am running to fill the Democratic State Committee seat in the 2nd Middlesex and Norfolk Senate district. Rep. Chris Walsh did a remarkable job representing our district to the state party, and I would be honored to continue his work,” said State Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis yesterday.
Lewis represents the Town of Ashland and one-third of Framingham.
The two other candidates are Frank D’Urso of Hopkinton and Robert Floyd of Holliston.
The Ashland Recreational Community Center is located at 162 W Union Street.
