5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Tuesday, January 8

1 Senate President Karen Spilka is hosting a social-emotional learning forum tonight in Ashland at the Warren Center at 6 p.m. Tickets are required but the event is free.

2. The Christa McAuliffe Charter School is hold an admission informational session tonight from 6;15 to 7;30 p.m. at the school on Newbury Street. The school admits students via a blind lottery.

3. FLYERS in action:

Framingham High boys hockey team will host Pope Francis High School at 6 p.m. at Loring Arena

The undefeated boys dive and swim team has an away meet at Babson College against Wellesley High at 7 p.m.

4. According to Mayor’s public calendar  on the City of Framingham’s website, Mayor Yvonne Spicer has an open hour from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. where she will meet with the public at the Ablondi room in the Memorial Building.

From there, she will attend Sen. Spilka’s event in Ashland. She is not expected to attend the City Council meeting tonight.

5. CITY of FRAMINGHAM meetings:

Framingham Council on Aging is scheduled to meet today at 1:30 p.m. at the Callahan Center

Framingham City Council’s subcommittee on zoning & planning is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. in the Blumer room in the Memorial Building

The Framingham City Council is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m., but go immediately into executive session. They will then meet with the public and complete their published agenda. The meeting is scheduled for the Blumer room in the Memorial Building.

The Framingham Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in the Ablondi room in the Memorial Building.

The Framingham Community Development Committee is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Memorial Building.
