Flyers Win Chelmsford Tournament; Noah Captures Individual Title

CHELMSFORD – The Framingham High wrestling team won the Chelmsford Invitational wrestling tournament today, January 5.

The Flyers won with 217.5 points.

Host Chelmsford High finished second with 174 points. Foxborough High finished third out of 21 teams with 151 points.

Senior captain Matt Noah finished first. He defeated Richard Canova of Danvers to win the 160 pound weight class. He is undefeated this season.

Five Flyers finished in third place.

Danillo Da Silva defeated Philip Page of Pilgrim to capture third place at 145 pounds.

Senior Jose Bullux defeated Londonderry’s Aiden O’Loughlin to capture third place at 126 pounds.

Rony Hernandez defeated Nick Carroll of Pelham High in New Hampshire to finish third at 182 pounds.

Flyer Patrick Quigley defeated Cameron Salter of Billerica High to take third place in the 152-pound class.

At 132 pounds, Flyer Marcus O’Brien defeated Justin Zannotti to finish in third place.

Framingham’s Gui Mendes defeated Bedford’s Dan Benn at 113 pounds to finish in fourth place.

Senior Seth Martin defeated Marshfield’s Tim Pomella at 195 pounds to finish fifth at the tournament.

Framingham junior Reece LaChance finished fifth at 170 pounds.

Senior Ben Chapman took sixth place for Framingham at 285 pounds.
