5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Wednesday, January 2

1 Framingham’s newest state representative Maria Robinson will be sworn in today at the state house. She replaces the late Rep. Chris Walsh.

Current State Representatives Jack Patrick Lewis and Carmine Gentile will be sworn in for another term today too.

2. CITY of FRAMINGHAM meetings:

Framingham Conservation Commission is scheduled to meet tonight in the Ablondi room in the Memorial Building.

Framingham School Committee is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Blumer room in the Memorial Building. On the agenda is a presentation on the 2019-2020 school calendar.

3. FLYERS in action:

Girls ice hockey will travel to Babson College for a 6 p.m. game against Wellesley

Boys ice hockey will host Wellesley High at Loring Arena

4. Knitters are invited to learn how to create a shopping bag. There is a knitting group meeting at 10 a.m. at the main Framingham Library.

5. According to Mayor’s public calendar  on the City of Framingham’s website, Mayor Yvonne Spicer is planning to attend the swearing in ceremony at the state house this morning, the swearing in for Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan at 6 p.m. in Newton, and planning to attend the Framingham School Committee meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
