One Establishment Approved for 2 a.m. New Year’s Opening

FRAMINGHAM – Two establishments applied two open until 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

As New year’s Day falls on a Tuesday, establishments had to apply for a special permit to stay open until 2 a.m. No establishment is granted an alcohol license to stay open until 2 a.m. normally on Tuesdays.


Framingham License Commission Chair Adam Barnosky said there were two applications to stay open until 2 a.m.

“One was approved and one was rejected, based on a recommendation from Framingham Police,” said Barnosky.


Framingham License Commission approved a 2 a.m. opening for China Gourmet.

Tropical Cafe on Hollis Street was not approved, according to the City’s licensing clerk.
