HOPKINTON – Josephine (Liberatore) Rose, 92, a lifelong Framingham resident before moving to Hopkinton in 2017, and an occasional traveler to Nashville, TN, died peacefully Dec. 28, 2018 at home surrounded by loving family.
She was the wife of the late Edwin J. “Eddie” Rose, Sr. who died in 1982. Born in Framingham, she was a daughter of the late Sisto and Mariana (Viglioni) Liberatore.
A graduate of Framingham High School with the Class of 1944, she most recently worked as a receptionist for Zymark Corp. in Hopkinton.
She will be remembered by her family as: a loving mother, a gracious wife, a creative seamstress, a certified nurses aide, a receptionist, a cook, a baker, a loyal friend, a jokester and comedian, a collector of all things, a storyteller, and a bathing suit model.
Josephine is survived by a son: Ed Rose and his wife Susan of Oxford, MA., a daughter: Linda Rose of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren: Amy Rose, Joel Rose, Gabriela Rose-Tamkin, and Kaniel Rose-Tamkin; three great grandchildren: Kaylie Rose, Courtney Rose, and Celia Rose-Tamkin; a brother: Richard Liberatore in New Jersey and many other nieces, nephews cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a great granddaughter: Laylani Rose-Tamkin and many close relatives.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Avenue in Framingham.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday January 3, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly Street, Route 135 in Framingham.
Burial will take place at a later date.
Flowers are welcome, but the family also suggests memorial gifts be made in her name to St. Tarcisius Parish, 562 Waverly St., Framingham, MA. 01702.
