FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High wrestling team dominated at their 39th annual Framingham Holiday Wrestling Tournament today, December 28.
Host Framingham won with 232 points. Methuen High Rangers were second with 168.5 points. The Red Hawks had 151 points, just ahead of Ashland High fourth with 147.5 points.
Two dozen teams competed in the day-long tournament, including a Framingham B wrestling team that finished 19th and placed three wrestlers in the top 8.
Three Flyers won individual titles.
Senior captain Matt Noah won at 160 pounds. He defeated Natick’s Mark Plumadore to advance to the finals, and defeated Methuen’s CJ Brown to win the title.
Danillo DaSilva won the 145 pound title. He defeated Marlborough’s
Richie Webber to advance to the finals, and then the captain defeated King Phillip’s Mohammad Lotfi to win the title.
At 182 pounds junior Reece LaChance defeated Holliston Panther
Spencer Fetrow to take the title.
Patrick Quigley at 152 pounds and Gui Mendes at 113 pounds finished third overall in their weight classes.
Framingham’s Matt Chalmers finished fourth at 120 pounds.
Mario Cruz at 170 pounds finished in fifth place.
Three Flyers captured sixth place. They were Josue Bullux at 128 pounds, senior Seth Martin at 195 pounds, and Shawn Ashe at 220 pounds.
At 106 pounds, Nolan Zigmont finished in seventh place for Framingham.
Two Flyers finished in 8th place to earn points for Framingham’s victory. They were Ben Chapman and Dante Marino at 138 pounds.
Framingham’s B team earned 51 points.
Rony Hernandez defeated teammate Martin for 5th place at 195 pounds.
Flyer Ian Barney lost to teammate Cruz to finish in 6th place.
Framingham’s Madijan Kabba defeated teammate Marino to finish in 7th place.
