BOSTON – Members of the Framingham High boys indoor track team competed at the Boston Holiday Challenge at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
Teams from 5 states competed at the meet, including teams from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.
None of the Flyers finished in the top 8 overall, but several had personal best times.
In the 55-meter race, senior captain Nick Seeto ran a 6.88 second race to finish 17th in the preliminaries. The top 8 advanced to the finals.
Freshman Antonio Rivera ran the race in 7.08 seconds, and finished 47th in a field of 70 runners. Senior captain Vasanth Prabakaran had a personal best 7.09 seconds in the race for 48th place.
Prabakaran competed in the long jump, as well. he placed 18th out of 37 in the event. His best jump was 19-feet, 1 inches.
In the 300 meter event, senior Jon Riley ran a 40.27 second race. It placed him 109th out of 176 runners. Junior Troy Lessing ran a personal best 40.94 seconds.
In the 1000 meter race, Framingham junior Alex Thurber had a personal best at 2:57.15 minutes. It placed him 46th out of 55 runners.
Freshman Arnav Singh ran a personal best in the mile at 5:02.26 minutes.
The Flyers recorded their best time this season in the 4 by 200 relay, said head coach Chris Collins. Runners Seeto, Rivera, Prabakaran and Miguel Aguilar ran a 1:37.96 minute race.
Next up for the Flyers is a meet against Milton on January 3 at the Reggie Lewis Center.
