BOSTON – Framingham freshman Abigail DeVeau finished third in the freshman mile at the Boston Holiday Classic at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston today, December 28.
Her time of 5:36.37 minutes was a personal best. She finished third out of 32 freshmen runners.
Teams from 5 states competed at the meet, including teams from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York.
Framingham senior captain Grace Poku finished seventh out of 64 runners in the 55-meter finals. Her time in the finals was 7.59 seconds.
She was seeded 4th after running a 7.51 in the preliminaries, said coach Chris Collins.
Senior Patty Agbeth competed in the long jump and the 300-meter event.
In the long jump, her leap of 14 feet placed her 35th. In the 300 meters, she ran a personal best time of 45.97 seconds. She finished 34th out of 83 runners.
Freshman Kylie Chagnon ran a personal best in the 300 at 47.56 seconds.
The Flyers are back at the Reggie Lewis Center on January 3 for a meet against the Wildcats of Milton High, seeking their first victory of the indoor track season.
