National Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory; Gusts Of Up To 50 Miles Per Hour

NORYON – The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 10 p.m. today, December 21.

Winds will be from the south at 10 to 25 miles per hour, but gusts could be as high as 40 to 50 miles per hour.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are expected, with gusts between 46 to 57 mph.

Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly causing isolated power outages.

Driving can also be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Today, is the first day of Winter, and temperatures could hit a high of 60 degrees.

The National Weather Service had already issued a flood watch alert, with a forecast of 2 to 3 inches of rain.
