FRAMINGHAM- The Framingham High gymnastics team won its season opener on the road last night, December 20.
The Flyers defeated Wellesley High 136-130.
Wellesley won the vault event, but Framingham gymnasts Tiffany Chan and Angela Burke, finished second and third, said gymnastics co-captain Kelly O’Callaghan.
The Raiders again won the even bar event, but Framingham sophomore Hannah Laskosky captured second place, with Framingham junior Sara Anastasi taking third place, said O’Callaghan.
Framingham freshman Emily Rappa come in second on the balance beam with a score of 8.95. Flyer sophomore Sydney Callahan finished third with a score of 8.6.
The Flyers swept the floor exercises event, with sophomore Hannah Laskosky winning the event with a score of 9.0, said O’Callaghan.
Anastasi finished second for Framingham, with freshman Camille Braaten taking third place.
Framingham’s next meet is again on the road against the Tigers of Newton North on January 11 at 5 p.m.
The Flyers first home meet is January 15 against Braintree at 7 p.m. at Shen’s Gymnastics
