Grand Jury Indicts Framingham Man and Woman on Firearm and Drug Charges

FRAMINGHAM – A couple arrested by Framingham Police in April 2018, have been indicted by a Middlesex County grand jury.

A grand jury indicted Karen Portillo, 19, of Framingham, was charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition, improper storage of a large capacity firearm, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance.

A grand jury indicted David Weinstein, 27, of Framingham, was charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition, improper storage of a large capacity firearm, possession with intent to distribute  cocaine, subsequent offense, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, subsequent offense, and two counts of being an armed career criminal.

The Assistant District Attorney prosecuting the cases is Raquel Frisardi.

Framingham Police arrested the couple at their 368 Union Avenue apartment in April.

Police found in at the apartment a.40 caliber Glock handgun with one bullet, and a clip with five more bullets and a couple of bullets in Portillo’s purse.

The arrest came following an investigation by the MetroWest Drug Task Force.
