UPDATED: Man in Motorized Wheelchair Struck on Route 9; Flown to Boston Hospital

FRAMINGHAM – A medical helicopter was requested for an individual struck on Route 9 on Tuesday night, December 11, just after 8 p.m.

The initial report had a pedestrian struck on Route 9, near 1080 Worcester Road.

Framingham Fire Department’s Tower 1 and Engine 2 responded to the scene and found a man 58, struck by a car. The man was in a motorized wheelchair when struck,¬† said the deputy fire chief.

Engine 5 met the medical helicopter at the landing zone at Massachusetts State Police headquarters.

The individual lost consciousness and had several facial trauma, but was semi-conscious by the time placed on the helicopter, said the deputy fire chief.

He was flown to a Boston hospital.

He was crossing Route 9 near the railroad tracks – 1080 Worcester Road is located between Winter Street and the Framingham State exit on Route 9.

Framingham Police are investigating.
