FRAMINGHAM – Marilyn (Moody) Hurlbut, 88, passed away Saturday December 1, 2018 in Framingham.
Born on April 22, 1930 she was the eldest daughter of Paul Amos and Judith (Inlay) Moody of Burlington, Vermont.
Marilyn graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Vermont. Her father was the head of the Zoology department and UVM and her mother was a musician who sang professionally and played many instruments.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Wayne Hurlbut. Wayne and Marilyn met while playing trombones in the Burlington High School band.
Wayne and Marilyn had four children who, with their spouses, survive Marilyn: Carol & John Saparnis, Craig & Paula Hurlbut, Leslie & Eugene Kelley and Diane and Paul Gilchrest. She is also survived by, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 4 nephews, and 1 grandnephew.
Marilyn loved music and played trombone, piano and cello. She also played in the hand bell choir at Grace Congregational Church. She was an avid reader and crocheted many beautiful afghans which are cherished by her family and friends. She also loved to sew and made beautiful wedding gowns for her daughters.
Marilyn worked as a secretary and office manager for several local area businesses.
A memorial service is being planned for the spring, details will be made available.
