FRAMINGHAM – Framingham FORCE, a new organization in the City, held a vigil last night, and placed more than 2,000 flags on the Framingham Centre Common to mark the victims of opioid use in Massachusetts.
Framingham FORCE is a group of community members focused on increasing awareness and compassion surrounding the opioid epidemic, as well as supporting individuals in recovery. Their founder is Cathy Miles.
“Too many lives have been lost to this epidemic but there is recovery and hope too. My daughter and Joan’s son are living proof. We wanted to create an organization which brings the community together to honor and remember those lost, provide education for families and individuals, and celebrate those that have overcome this insidious disease,” said Miles, in announcing the organization’s first event.
The group’s mission is to be a force in the community to combat the opioid epidemic through compassion, education and advocacy.
SOURCE will have a full report with photos and video from Saturday evening’s event attended by about 100 people on Sunday.
