Made With Love Jewelry
Owner: Shana Cohen
First launched in: 2005
Why did you launch your business? I wanted to make jewelry that was different. I told my friend that I wanted to start making jewelry and she bought me a kit for the holidays. The kit had these big safety pins in it and I wasn’t sure what to do with them at first. I used some colorful wire and beads and my first design was created.
What will you be selling at the holiday marketplace? Earrings, rings, bracelets, keychains, necklaces, stud post earrings, hair bows, ornament earrings, and adorable boxes to put jewelry in.
What makes your business unique? I try to make things that spark nostalgia and cater to people’s interests. For example, you may know someone who is a musician and would love a guitar pick necklace. Or if you have a friend who is a science teacher, she might enjoy my microscope earrings. If I don’t have what you are looking for, I am always open to custom orders.
Where do you get your inspiration from? I love making things from ordinary objects. For example. LEGOS, guitar picks, Barbie Doll Shoes etc. Betsey Johnson is also a huge inspiration to me. I just love how fun and unique her designs are. One of the biggest compliments I have ever received is when a customer said my designs remind me of hers.
What is your favorite thing about the holidays? As you can tell, I am a big fan of nostalgia. I love when I am able to gather with family and reminisce about the past. Memories are important to have between loved ones. It keeps those who have passed on alive even after they are gone.
What is your signature item that everyone should buy at the marketplace and why? I don’t believe I have just one signature item but a lot of people seem to gravitate towards my LEGO, Guitar Pick, and Tree of Life Earrings. My earrings make great stocking stuffers! I think if you stop by my booth, you’ll find a little something for everyone on your list.
