Why did you launch your business?  I launched my business because I have always wanted to combine my graphic design skills with my retail experience.  My very first candle order was designed for Jane Fitzpatrick the founder of Country Curtains for an early corporate celebration of her 90th birthday. And so it began…

What will you be selling at the holiday marketplace? “dainte” soy candles, ‘daintea” greeting cards, & bath teas.

What makes your business unique? Daisy & co. hand pours ‘daintea’ soy candles in pre-loved antique/vintage demitasse cup sets with sweet aromas of a variety of teas – Cutely packaged & ready for gifting. As each candle burns, it will liquefy & darken giving it the appearance of a brewed cup of tea. Each is a one of a kind piece. Many times I am sad to see some of them go! There will be no physical damage to the cup sets and they remain collectible after use. Also available are adorable tea themed greeting cards created from antique/vintage postcard images. The candles and cards are featured in a few local boutiques. There are candles and cards for all holiday themes. There are nursery cup sets for Mom’s and new babies as well. Additionally, Clients can meet at my home studio for consultation on weddings, showers, & other events. I have the ability to alter the packaging & labels on all my products according to the clients wishes (ex. bridal couple photo, names & dates, ribbon color, packaging colors, etc.) Now included is a small line of bath teas called – hotsy-totsy – as well.
Where do you get your inspiration from? My original inspiration for all my artistic endeavors has been my mom. She was a fine artist & her old oil paint pallet board is prominently displayed in my studio. She always believed in my abilities even when I was in doubt and frustrated. She also infused me with a long love of conversation over tea! A photo of my mother and my aunt when they were little girls back in the 1920s is featured on my candle packaging. The ironic part is that my mother would often go around my home blowing out candles when she visited! I love anything vintage and unique & I love re-purposing things.
What is your favorite thing about the holidays? The warm ambiance ~ that a holiday gathering means wonderful scents and smells and I have always loved candles. When hand crafting all my candle cup sets, I decide what scent, color, and how the final gift packages will present. Each one is an artistic creation and one of a kind labor of love of my craft. I gives me great pleasure to help a customer select just the right one-of-a-kind and unique gift for a friend or love one.
What is your signature item that everyone should buy at the marketplace and why? ‘daintea’ soy candles. The candle sets are all hand poured & each individually crafted. They come cutely packed & ready for gifting. The coolest thing about them is that when they are burning they will all liquefy and darken in color giving them the physical appearance of a brewed cup of tea! They are also eco friendly because they are a re-purposed item and can still can be used as originally intended after use.
