UPDATED: Burgess Finishes 3rd at Northeast Regional Cross-Country Meet

BRONX, NEW YORK – Framingham middle school Sam Burgess finished 3rd at the Foot Locker Northeast regional meet in the 14-14 age category in the Bronx, New York today, November 24.

Earlier this month, Burgess qualified for the national national Junior Olympics Cross-Country meet, by finishing 17th at the regional meet.

Burgess is a middle school student at the Christa McAuliffe Charter School in Framingham.

“I enjoyed competing at Foot Locker regionals today. I felt good about coming in 3rd place today,” said Burgess. “I hope to come back to compete at Foot Locker regionals for the next 4 years and perhaps someday qualify for nationals.”

UPDATED: An earlier version said Burgess qualified for nationals by finishing in the top 10. Only high school students can qualify for nationals. Source regrets the error.
