Connolly Finishes 3rd at 40th Annual Northeast Regional Cross-Country Meet; Qualifies for Nationals

BRONX, NEW YORK – Natick High senior Grace Connolly finished third overall at the 40th Annual Foot Locker Northeast Regional Cross-Country meet at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, New York today, November 24.

Her time was 17:27.60 minutes.

The top 10 runners in each of the four regional meets, qualified for the national championship in San Diego California, next month.

The winner of today’s Northeast meet was Sydney Masciarelli, a sophomore from Northbridge. She crossed the finish line at 17:12.60 minutes.

A Pennsylvania junior Marlee Starliper finished second in 17:17.60 minutes.

The Northeast regional includes runners from “Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, D.C. and U.S. citizens in Overseas Military Installations.

There were three runners from Massachusetts in the top 10.

Littleton senior Sarah Roffman was ninth overall in 18:12.10 minutes.

Natick High had two runners in the top 10.

Red Hawk sophomore Kate Connolly finished 19th overall in 18:52.50 minutes.
