UPDATED: Framingham DPW To Host 2nd Annual Open House in December

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham Department of Public Works will host its 2nd Annual Open House in December.

The open house is scheduled for Saturday, December 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Works Operations Center located at 100 Western Avenue.
“The community is invited to this free family-friendly event to visit the public works operations center and learn more about the Department and what it takes to keep Framingham moving. Activities will include a photo booth, touch-a-truck, demonstrations, and more! Light refreshments will be available,” said the City in an announcement.
The City said bins will be set up to collect clothing/hygiene and food items that will benefit local charitable organizations.Clothing/hygiene items will go to the MetroWest Clothing Initiative. They’re looking for:

  • Hats
  • Scarves
  • Coats
  • Mittens
  • Warm Socks
  • Tooth brushes & tooth paste

Food items will go to Daniel’s Table or the Pearl Street Cupboard. Any non-perishable food item will be accepted, but some examples of items needed include:

  • Granola bars, cereal bars, cliff bars
  • Fruit bars, dried fruit, fruit snacks, fruit cocktail cups
  • Popcorn, smart food, sun chips

In the event of inclement weather, cancellations will be posted to the City’s website by Friday, December 7.

The snow date for this event is Saturday, December 15.
