FRAMINGHAM – Margaret L. “Lorraine” Byrnes, 87, a longtime resident of Framingham, formerly of Mission Hill, Roxbury died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 after a recent illness.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John & Sarah (Mc Isaac) Bonner, and the beloved wife of the late John F. Byrnes, Sr.
Lorraine was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School, and went to work for Gillette. She was an EKG Technician at the Beth Israel for almost 30 years, retiring only to join the phlebotomy team at Mass General, where she proudly gave cardiograms to the Patriots during their annual physicals.
She later worked at Fanny Farmer Candy in Natick, and volunteered her time at Fatima Shrine.
Lorraine was a talented pianist, loved to sing and dance, and spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, John F. & his wife Beth of Dudley, and James H. & his wife Amy of Hanover, her grandchildren, Lauren, Katelyn, Michael John, Sarah, Connor, and Michael Churchill, her siblings, William Martin, Helene Tucker, Susan Connell, Wilma Kubli and Ronald Martin, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband John, she was predeceased by her sister Patsy Drinan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lorraine’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Tuesday, November 13 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Her Funeral Mass will follow in St. Stephen’s Church, 221 Concord St. at 11 a.m.
Interment in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
