FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Superintendent Robert Tremblay, Superintendent of Schools announced today, November 8, Eugene Scott Penrod has been hired as the first Director of Safety and Security for the public school district.
“We have been searching for a long time to select the best possible candidate to join our Senior Leadership Team and to focus on the many aspects of emergency response planning and overall safety and security oversight for our school district,” said Tremblay, in a media release.
“Scott’s varied background in this industry coupled with his knowledge of Framingham, his connection to students in our district as a coach, and his strong, established relationships among our community of first-responders, makes him an ideal Director of Safety and Security for the Framingham Public Schools,” said Tremblay.
The primary role of the Director of Safety and Security is to support students and staff with any safety-related issues, concerns, or problems, from providing directions to performing mediations.
Penrod is a graduate of Framingham State College with more than 30 years’ experience in the Safety and Security Field with Marriott International. He has held many positions within his 30 years with Marriott including his latest as Director of Loss Prevention at the Boston Marriott Copley.
He has been a member of the Framingham Auxiliary Police for the last 18 years working closely with all aspects of public safety.
Penrod has been part of the Framingham Youth Hockey Program Board of Directors for many years and well as a coach for Framingham United Soccer.
He resides in Framingham with his wife Jayne and his children Jake and Caitlyn.
