Man Arrested After Stealing More Than $1,200 From Framingham Church

FRAMINGHAM – A homeless man man was arrested and charged with stealing more than $1,200 from a Framingham church.

Framingham Police arrested John Wilson, 49, who does not have an address, after Rev. Volmar Scravelli from St. Tarcisius Catholic Church called police.

Rev. Scarvelli said¬†Wilson had stolen thousands of dollars from the church’s locked candle donation box at multiple times.

Wilson had a tool in his possession, he may have used to steal the money from the locked box.

Wilson told Police “I know what I did. I was stupid,” said Lt. Grigas.

He was arraigned in Framingham District Court.

Judge Matthew McGrath released him without bail, ordering him to stay away from the church.
