VIDEO: Red Hawks and Flyers Battle to 2-2 Tie in Annual Wheeler Cup

FRAMINGHAM – Natick and Framingham battled to a 2-2 tie in the 23rd Annual George Wheeler Memorial Soccer Cup at Bowditch Field Saturday night, October 21.

With the tie, Framingham is now 7-6-3, and needs to win or tie in their final two regular season games, to qualify for post-season play.

Natick High, 8-2-4, has already qualified for post-season play.

Natick scored first in the annual Wheeler Cup game. Senior Captain Alex Campana scored off a pass from Abby Gerdes.

Sophomore Kylie Chin, scored off a rebound, to tie the game for the Flyers.

Senior Tess Lawson scored for Framingham, to give the Flyers a 2-1 lead.

With 9 minutes left in the game, Red Hawk sophomore Kelly Pease scored to tie the game.

Sophomore Makala St, Cyr had 14 saves in net for Framingham.

Framingham will play the Warriors of Brookline High at Bowditch Field at 7 on October 24.

The Flyers will play Friday, October 26 at Framingham High in their final regular season game against the Raiders of Wellesley High.
