FRAMINGHAM – Natick senior captain Nick Goudsmit scored both goals for the Red Hawks to lead Natick to victory over the Framingham High boys soccer team in the 23rd Annual George Wheeler Memorial Cup at Bowditch Field in Framingham yesterday, October 20.
The win by Natick, qualified the team for post-season play.
Natick is now 7-5-2 overall.
The game was scoreless after the first half.
Goudsmit scored both his goals on penalty kicks.
The first goal was scored in the first two minutes of the second half. The second goal was scored in the final two minutes of the second half.
The Memorial Wheeler Cup is a four-game card. First there were games between the girls and boys grade 8 soccer teams by Framingham United Soccer Club and Natick Soccer.
Then there were was the boys varsity, and then the girls varsity teams from both Framingham and Natick yesterday. Money raised from the Wheeler Cup support scholarships to seniors from Natick and Framingham High schools.
