Rockets and Wildcats Sprint Past Flyers; DeVeau Fastest Framingham Runner

NEEDHAM – The Framingham High girls cross-country team lost to both Needham High and Weymouth High at a tri-meet at Cutler Park in Needham on Wednesday.

Needham senior Ana Keene won the 5,000 meter race in 20:06 minutes for the Rockets, who defeated both the Flyers and the Wildcats on October 10.

Needham captured the top five spots in the 3.1-mile race. There were 53 entrants in the varsity race.

Weymouth defeated Framingham in the race. The Wildcats’ top runner was senior Julie Galvin, 6th overall at 21:12 minutes.

Framingham’s top runner was freshman Abigail DeVeau, who finished seventh overall in 21:18 minutes.

Flyer Madelyn Klein, a senior, was 11th overall at 22:12 minutes. She was the second Framingham runner to cross the finish line.

Junior Paige Fisher was the third to cross the finish line for the Flyers. Her time of 23:10 put her 19th overall.

Kirsten Harrod was the fourth Flyers across the finish line in 24:09 minutes. She was 25th overall in the race.

Senior Jenna Riedl, was 33th overall in 25:03 minutes.

Freshman Emma Rothwell was 34th overall in 25:05 minutes for the Flyers.

Junior Mariana Kelly was 35th overall in 25:28 minutes for Framingham.

That was the last Bay State Conference meet for the girls cross-country team. The Flyers were winless in the Conference.

Next up is the Bay State Conference Championship meet on October 27.
