Framingham State Shuts Out Curry College 2-0

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State University women’s soccer team received a pair of goals from junior Caitlyn Our,  as the Rams defeated Curry College 2-0 in non-conference action at Wednesday afternoon at Maple Street Field.

With the win The Rams improve to 2-8.

With the loss at Maple Street Field in Framingham, Curry drops to 7-5-1.


  • The two teams played a scoreless first half that saw Curry hold a slim 9-8 edge in shots.  The Rams had a couple of chances to get on the board in the opening stanza.  Freshman Olivia Mihalek had a pair of shots from the top of the box, but one sailed wide and the other hit the cross bar and was cleared away by the Colonels.
  • Curry had a solid scoring opportunity with about 20 minutes remaining in the opening half.  Freshman Samantha Borges  took a pass and had a lane to the goal, but her shot sailed just wide of the net.
  • The Rams had the first chance to score in the second half as senior Kayla Almstrom sent a shot on goal off a corner, but the Colonels defender on the post was able to clear the ball away. Curry answered and went down the field and sophomore Tayla Randallsent a shot on net from the left sideline, but freshman Madison Brown  came up with the save for the Rams.

  • The Rams broke the scoreless tie in the 69th minute.  A Colonel defender misplayed the ball just outside the box and lofted the ball into the box.  Our headed the misplayed ball into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
  • The Rams doubled their lead in the 79th minute as sophomore Casey Good laid a cross off to Our who connected on her second of the game.


  • The Rams held a 24-12 advantage in shots for the game and held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
  • Brown recorded the shutout victory in net for the Rams and made nine saves.
  • Maggie Chamberlain took the loss for the Colonels while making nine saves.

The Rams host MCLA on Saturday at 11 a.m. in a Confernce game in Framingham.
