FRAMINGHAM – City of Framingham Mayor Yvonne Spicer woke up to a flock of flamingos in her yard this morning, October 4.
It was part of a fundraiser by the Framingham High girls swim & dive team.
The Flyers have won 13 Bay State Conference titles in the last 15 years under head coach Mike Foley.
Individuals and families can pay $10, $20, or $30 to send a dozen, two dozen, or three dozen flamingos to be delivered to a home. You can flock anonymously too, if you choose.
Flamingos fly in after dark and roost overnight.
The flock is removed within 24 hrs, typically the next afternoon or evening.
If the Mayor doesn’t wish to be flocked again, she can pay $10 for insurance on her home against “flocking.”
When a home is flocked, a form is left with the individual or family, if they would like to “flock” another home in the City.
Below is a form if you would like to participate in the Flyers swim & dive fundraiser. The fundraiser will go through mid-November.
