FRAMINGHAM – Xavier Anthony DeAngelis, 87, a longtime Framingham resident died Saturday, September 29, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Plymouth, IN, he was the son of the late Louis & Rose (Ricciardi) DeAngelis.
He was a graduate of Culver High School and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Air Force.
He graduated from Valparaiso Technical Institute with a degree in radio engineering and ultimately earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
He enjoyed a long career as an engineer with Sylvania/GTE Government Systems in Needham, retiring in 1992.
A devout Roman Catholic, Tony was an avid tennis player, enjoyed photography, genealogy, and tinkering with anything mechanical.
He is survived by his children, Joseph & his wife Cynthia of Arlington, Paul & his wife Mary of Royersford, PA, Patrick & his wife Lynn of Northborough, and Tina of Framingham, his grandchildren, Catherine, Brian, Tracey & her fiancé Robert Faraday, Emily Ciccarello & her husband Daniel and Kristen Richard & her husband David. He was predeceased by his first wife Yolanda (Paluzzi) and wife of many years Mary Kirby-DeAngelis.
A time of visitation will take place at the Holy Family Chapel of St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham, on Friday, October 5 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel.
Interment at St. Stephen Cemetery.
