FRAMINGHAM – Margaret (Dikmak) Rowe, 85, a longtime resident of Framingham, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on September 24, 2018.
Margaret was born January 15, 1933 in Brighton, and was the daughter of Abdallah and Mary (Bezreh) Dikmak from Damascus, Syria.
She was the wife of the late John D. Rowe.
Margaret graduated from Brighton High School in 1950 and married in 1961.
She moved to Framingham in 1967, where she raised her family. She was very active in the Wesley United Methodist Church in Framingham, holding several leadership positions over many years leading up to her passing, as well as going on wellness visits with the pastors to several church members in need.
She also volunteered at the Alzheimer’s Association Western Massachusetts Regional Office, after her husband’s death to the disease in 2003. Margaret also participated in several mission trips locally, nationally and internationally. All of these activities and more reflected her deep passion for helping others in need throughout her life.
She is survived by her sons, Michael J. Rowe and his wife Bonnie-jean of Framingham, David J. Rowe and his wife Jo Linda of Manassas, Virginia, and her niece Marie Dobachesky and husband Richard of Medway. She also leaves her grandchildren Jonathan, Danielle, Logan and Ethan Rowe, Derek and Nichole Dobachesky, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Charles Dikmak, George Dikmak and his wife Laurice of Sudbury, Fred Dikmak of Hopkinton, the late Laurice Hedinger, and Elizabeth Tamer of Canton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street (corner of Union Ave), Framingham.
A celebration of her life will be on Monday, October 1st at 10 a.m.at Wesley United Methodist Church, 80 Beacon Street in Framingham.
Burial will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove Street in Framingham.
In lieu of flowers, donations, in her memory, may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
